JEFFREY BERGER
Principal and Founder, Isen & Company R|E|A
Mr. Berger is an accomplished New York City real estate professional with over 15 years of experience as an originator, investor, developer, project manager, and advisor. Mr. Berger is currently Principal and Founder of Isen & Company R|E|A – a real estate advisory firm formed in 2003. Isen & Company R|E|A is the sponsor of Isen Capital Management.
Mr. Berger is also the Principal and Founder of Isen Capital Management. Mr. Berger is the executive in charge of all core aspects of the firm’s asset level acquisition, project management, and disposition activities, including structuring of transactions, negotiating terms and conditions, partner engagement, and all major asset management strategies.
Mr. Berger is one of the top deal originators in Northern Manhattan. He is a veteran of the neighborhoods north of 96th street and maintains a vast network of real estate professionals that formulate a steady stream of attractive investment opportunities. Mr. Berger has advised dozens of developers in Northern Manhattan and maintains a close relationship with the community.
Mr. Berger’s experience includes a diverse portfolio of assets that range from townhomes to large institutional developments. In addition, Mr. Berger was an integral member of the development team that acquired, developed, and sold Northern Manhattan’s premier luxury building,111 Central Park North in Central Harlem. This high profile project, a 19 story condominium featuring 47 prime units that face Central Park, was instrumental in the growth of the Northern Manhattan, requiring an extensive amount of diligence and community relations in the process.
Mr. Berger has been a successful small business owner for over ten years and possesses a wealth of New York City real estate experience working with a broad range of partners, institutions, and private clients. Mr. Berger has an extensive track record of working with his own equity to secure, operate, and monetize value added real estate investments. This expertise includes work as an originator, investor, project manager, developer, and advisor. Mr. Berger’s portfolio includes projects at 303 East 109th Street, 400A-408 East 118th Street, 411 East 115th Street, 128 West 111th Street, 233-235 West 113th Street, 106 Edgecombe Avenue, and 320 West 113th Street.
Mr. Berger’s versatility is demonstrated by wide range of advisory services performed for large institutional firms. From 2008 to 2010, Mr. Berger worked with Prodigy Network LLC to train staff and oversee all international sales for the firm. During this time, Mr. Berger advised on several New York City development projects that included the William Beaver House and Trump SOHO. From 2003 to 2008, Mr. Berger served as an executive consultant to The Athena Group, LLC, which was a national private equity real estate investment and development firm. Mr. Berger responsibilities included the supervision of all sales and marketing, staff training, community relations, investor relations and communications, and overall advisement of the development team. The project proved highly successful with Mr. Berger’s team setting several New York City real estate records including highest price per square foot and highest condominium sales price in Harlem history (2007).
Mr. Berger graduated with an MSc in Real Estate Development (MSRED) from Columbia University’s School of Architecture in 2003 and received his BA in Psychology from the University of Rochester in 1992. He is a supporter/mentor for Columbia’s MSRED alumni network, and fifteen-year resident of Northern Manhattan.
